📌 Overview

Variables are the building blocks of a Model in cofi.ai.

Each variable represents a metric, formula, or data reference — allowing you to calculate KPIs, financial line items, and scenario-based projections within your model.

Variables behave like named cells or rows in a spreadsheet but are powered by structured, database-connected logic.

🔎 What Variables Do

Variables can:

• Pull data directly from a Database (e.g., Revenue, Expenses, Headcount).
• Apply formulas using arithmetic, functions, and aggregations.
• Reference other variables (e.g., Gross Profit = Revenue - COGS).
• Be reused across multiple Models or Dashboards.

💡 Tip: Variables keep business logic centralized — once defined, they can be used across scenarios and visualizations.

➕ Adding a Variable

1. Open Your Model

From the Models workspace, open the model where you want to add variables.

2. Add a New Variable

Click Add Variable → New Variable.

A blank variable line appears in the Variables panel.
